Harold Mitchell, Sr., Chair
Retired State Farm Executive
A product of the Chicago Public School System, Mitchell went on
to graduate from Southern Illinois University and began a long
career with State Farm in 1968. Rising through the ranks, he retired
in 2005 as one of the company’s top executives.
Mitchell coached Little League baseball for twenty years and served
on the board of the Neighborhood Housing Authority. He also
serves as vice president of membership for the 100 Black Men of
Atlanta.
In addition, he has officiated college football for thirty-five years,
working in the Big Ten Athletic Conference, the Southeastern
Conference, and the MEAC. His other hobbies include golf, golf,
and more golf.

Arlane Robinson, Co-chair
Owner
OCR Trucking
Through the years, family and company move transitions have
been Robinson’s primary responsibility as a wife and mother.
As she moved around the country, she worked for Delta Air Lines,
The CIT Group, and AT&T, and made time to further her education
at the Albuquerque Vocational and Technical Institute and Kennesaw
State University. She also attended The University of Houston.
Robinson has worked with agencies such as Reaching Out to
Senior Adults (ROSA), Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance (GOCA),
and Cool Girls, Inc. When her children were younger, she worked
diligently in the PTA to increase minority awareness and
involvement.

Roosevelt Adams
President
Hartsfield Hospitality
As owner and president of Hartsfield Hospitality, Adams operates
four food and beverage concessions at Hartsfield-Jackson
Atlanta International Airport. He is also president and CEO of
Global Concession Management, Inc. Earlier in his career he held
positions in telecommunications, marketing, and manufacturing.
A graduate of Central State University in Ohio, Adams earned a
graduate degree from Howard University.

Donna Boortz
President
Investing in People
Boortz has corporate experience in fields as diverse as
banking, the Space Program, and legal affairs. She also worked
with The Friendship Force before owning a travel agency. She thinks
if she had discovered technical education earlier, she would have
saved herself from several dead-end jobs! So in self-defense, she
became a real estate investor.
Most recently, she has established the Donna Boortz Foundation,
otherwise known as Investing in People. Boortz is blessed to have
a supportive husband and daughter.

Tara Coyt
President
Coyt Communications
Just one year after moving her company to Atlanta, Coyt
captured the Atlanta Business League’s Super Tuesday Home
Based Business Achievement Award. Known as a marketing powerhouse,
she attributes her success to the deliberate use of the
“two Cs,” collaboration and communication. Coyt is the author of
DOWNlo MARKETING: Uncover Your Business, Discover More Profits
and the creator of The GET IT WRITE Author’s Circle.
After working for the largest cable operator in the country, Coyt
went on to develop and manage national advertising campaigns for
Fortune 500 companies.
Coyt earned an MBA from The Ohio State University and was
named a Walter Kaitz Foundation Fellow. She is a graduate of
the Volunteer Involvement Program of the United Way of
Metropolitan Atlanta.

Louis Culpepper
Chief Executive Officer
Culpepper & Associates Security Services, Inc.
Culpepper served twenty-three years in the US Air Force and
reached the rank of lieutenant colonel. During the Vietnam War,
he earned the Bronze Star for Gallantry and the Purple Heart. As a
special agent in the air force, he supervised and conducted special
operations on several continents.
In 1992 he founded his full-service security company with just five
employees and now has a staff of more than 260. Today Culpepper
& Associates Security Services is internationally recognized with
operations around the globe.
Culpepper is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and holds
degrees from the University of Maryland and Central Michigan
University. His professional affiliations include membership in the
FBI National Academy Associates; the International Organization
of Black Security Executives; and the American Society for Industrial
Security.

John DeVeer
Vice President & Senior Financial Advisor
Merrill Lynch
A native of Boston, DeVeer graduated from Boston College and
joined the US Army. After his military service, he held positions
with International Harvester Company; the Lipton Food Company;
and Southern Airways. He also earned an MBA.
Through the years, DeVeer has been active in youth baseball and the
Boy Scouts. He is a member of the Civitan Club of Atlanta and All
Saints’ Men’s Club. He also serves on the board of the Friends of the
Dunwoody Library. He has completed twenty-seven Peachtree Road
Races, six half marathons, and one Atlanta Marathon.

Christina Dixon
General manager for Food & Beverage Hampton University
Christina Dixon is a proud Atlanta Tech Culinary Arts alumna who was awarded the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership and became the State of Georgia's Ambassador for Technical and Adult Education. Christina received a scholarship to DeVry University as the result of her winning the State GOAL competition. During her one-year term as the State's Ambassador for DTAE, Christina was privileged to travel and speak at many different venues about the impact of technical and adult education throughout the State of Georgia.
In 2004, she was invited to assist Master Chef Kevin Walker in the hot food competition of the Bocuse’d Or where they placed 3rd in the nation among the world’s best chefs. Christina received her Bachelor of Science in Business and Technical Management with a concentration in Hospitality Management from DeVry University in the Spring of 2006. She served as the Food and Beverage Manager at The Oaks Golf and Country Club in Covington, GA and is currently employed as the General Manager for Food and Beverage through Gourmet Services at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia. In September of 2007, she was featured in Golf Business Magazine for causing the restaurant and dining facility that was losing money, to become a profit center for the golf course.

Jennifer B. Dossman
Consultant
Dossman retired from Lucent Technologies and AT&T with
twenty-three years of experience in sales, operations, and project
management. She captured numerous awards during her career,
including AT&T’s Best of the Best Outstanding Sales Performance
Award. She is a two-time recipient of AT&T’s prestigious Summit
Award.
A cum laude graduate of Spelman College, she serves on the
advisory boards of National Families in Action (NFIA) and Spelman’s
Museum of Fine Art. She also served as secretary-treasurer of the
Technical College Foundation Association of Georgia.

Kimberly M. Esmond Adams, Esq.
Assistant District Attorney
Office of Fulton County District Attorney
Esmond began her career in public service after more than three
years of practice as an employment attorney. As president of
the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, she is committed
to African-American women and children and the causes of
African-American female lawyers. She has also served on the State
Bar of Georgia’s Minorities in the Profession Committee and the
Truancy Intervention Project.
In addition to her professional endeavors, she is a board member
of the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Atlanta, West End Cluster. A
graduate of Howard University, she was awarded the juris doctor
degree from Notre Dame Law School.

Dr. Frank Glover, Sr.
Education Consultant
Glover served as a teacher, coach, and administrator in the
Atlanta public schools for thirty-five years. While assistant area
superintendent, he was responsible for forty-one schools and 22,000
students.
In 1955, he began officiating college football and basketball. In 1972,
Glover became one of the first four African-American officials in the
National Football League (NFL) and the first official from the South.
Today he is a talent scout for the NFL.
Glover is a member of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta and the NFL
Alumni Association. He serves of the boards of the Campbellton
YMCA and the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame. Acclaimed as a
pioneer in the athletic arena, he has been inducted into numerous
halls of fame, including the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.
A graduate of Morris Brown College, he earned graduate degrees
from New York University and Georgia State University.

Samuel L. Gude III

Gude Management Group
Prior to founding Gude Management Group, Gude served as
executive vice president and managing director for government
and educational projects for Skanska USA Building, Inc.
Community service and civic involvement have always been a top
priority. He serves on the boards of the Georgia Regional Transportation
Authority; the Fulton Education Foundation; the Alliance
Theatre; the Atlanta Urban League; and many others.
Gude attended Georgia Tech’s School of Industrial and Systems
Engineering and earned a degree from Mercer University.

Woodrow Hall

Diversapack
Hall heads the largest minority-owned organization of its kind in
the United States—Diversapack, a company that offers flexible
packaging solutions such as film manufacturing, printing, and contract
manufacturing. Earlier in his career, he held leadership positions at
Kaiser Aluminum, Pepsico, and International Paper.
He serves as a board member of the Morehouse School of Medicine
and Georgia Advocacy. He is also active in the Rotary Club of Atlanta;
100 Black Men of Atlanta; and Leadership Atlanta. His passion is
found in his work as chair of the Citizen Advocacy Board for Atlanta
and DeKalb; in his company’s support of children at risk; and his
efforts on behalf of the National Federation of the Blind in Georgia.
Hall is a graduate of Tuskegee Institute and earned two graduate
degrees from Stanford University.

Ken Hudson

National Basketball Association
Hudson is an American success story. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he
graduated from Central State University in Ohio and went on
to become the first fulltime minority referee in the National Basketball
Association.
A distinguished leader in the arenas of athletics, marketing, and
education, Hudson is known as the “father” of the Atlanta Technical
College Foundation Board. His career with Coca-Cola spanned
twenty-two years. He has also managed a radio station and directed
community affairs for the Boston Celtics.
A recipient of countless awards, Hudson has been honored in
several sports halls of fame. In 2005 he received a doctorate of
humane letters from Cambridge College in recognition of his
achievements.

Roger Johnson
Senior Manager of Corporate External Affairs
The Coca-Cola Company
Before joining The Coca-Cola Company, Johnson held positions
at IBM, State Farm Insurance Companies, and Wachovia Bank
Corporation.
In his current position, he establishes, monitors, and enhances
external relationships with community leaders, grassroots constituents,
and organizations. Johnson is a graduate of the University of
Florida and earned an MBA from Clark Atlanta University.

John Lee
President, Business REsources USA, Inc.
Graduate, Atlanta Technical College
An accomplished business and community leader, Lee is proud
of the education he earned at Atlanta Technical College. As
president of Business REsources USA, he directs the company’s real
estate, international trading, communications, investments, and management
and consulting activities. Prior to his Atlanta Tech experience,
he attended California State University and the Atlanta Police
Academy.
Lee is president of the Korea-Southeast US Chamber of Commerce
and BR Investments Group. Lee also served as president of the
Korean-American Chamber of Commerce and the Asian-American
Chamber. He held appointments on the Mayor’s Advisory Committee;
the Governor’s Asian Commission; and as an ACOG Olympic
envoy. His work in international relations has captured numerous
awards, including the Ronal Reagan Gold Medal. The Presidential
Council named him Businessman of the Year.

Dr. Kaneta Lott
Pediatric Dentist The Family & Children Dentistry
Dr. Kaneta R. Lott has helped to shape the smiles of hundreds of children for over twenty years. A renowned national speaker and motivator, Dr. Lott is
one of the most respected pediatric dentists in the United States.
Dr. Lott is the owner of Family and Children’s Dentistry, one of the most successful pediatric dental practices in metro Atlanta. She also serves
as a consultant to the Georgia Board of Dentistry and has served as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the department of Pediatric
Dentistry at The Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Lott is also a fellow with the American College of
Dentists and is a member of numerous local, state, and national professional organizations.

Miranda Mack - Mckenzie
Director of Community Affairs
Anheuser-Busch, Inc.
Prior to her appointment with Anheuser-Bush, McKenzie held
leadership positions with the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic
Games and the Atlanta Centennial Olympic Properties. Earlier in
her career, she worked as an account executive with WOAK Radio
and held positions in sales, marketing, and community relations at
the Coors Brewing Company.
A founding member of the Coalition of 100 Black Women of Atlanta,
McKenzie serves on the board of the Atlanta NAACP and is a
past-president of the National Association of Market Developers.
McKenzie has been recognized in national publications and is the
recipient of numerous awards.
An Atlanta native and graduate of Morris Brown College, she has
participated in Leadership Atlanta, Leadership Georgia, Leadership
America, and the Regional Leadership Institute.

Judy Mozen
President
Handcrafted Homes, Inc.
Armed with a degree from Agnes Scott College, Mozen was convinced
that she would be a lawyer one day. But during graduate
school she discovered her love of home design and construction.
As one of the first women in the industry, Mozen is known as an
award-winning pioneer. A Certified Professional Home Builder, she
has been featured in many publications, including Better Homes and
Gardens and the Wall Street Journal. She is an active member of the
Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association.
Mozen has been involved with Habitat for Humanity, the Festival
of Trees, the Southeastern Flower Show, and the Olympic Games.
She is also an alumna of Leadership Atlanta. She has a deep passion
for the welfare of Atlanta, the city that has given so much to her
and her business.

Dr. Gloria Patterson.Ed.D.
Executive Director of Schools
Atlanta Public Schools System
Patterson is a graduate of North Carolina Central University,
Georgia State University, and Clark Atlanta University. She has
served as a teacher, media specialist, principal, and interim deputy
superintendent of curriculum and instruction.
While principal of Ragsdale Elementary School, the school was
recognized by Redbook Magazine as one of the forty-three best
elementary schools in the United States. Under her leadership,
Bunche Middle School was named a National Blue Ribbon School
of Excellence.
She is active in numerous professional and community organizations.

Carolyn Young
Assistant to the Chairman
Goodworks International, LLC
A graduate of Clark College and Georgia State University, Young
taught for thirty years in the Atlanta Public Schools System. As
a teacher, she garnered numerous awards and honors. Upon retirement,
she joined her husband, Ambassador Andrew Young, at his
international consulting firm, GoodWorks International.
Young serves on the Governor’s Reform Commission for
Education and the Georgia Human Relations Commission. She
holds board appointments with many organizations including: the
Southern Christian Leadership Conference Women; the Fernbank
Museum; Literary Action; Clark Atlanta University; and the APEX
Museum. She co-chairs the Patron Committee for G-Capp and
the annual Ebony Fashion Fair, a scholarship fundraiser for Delta
Sigma Theta.

Michael Young

During a thirty-year career with Delta Air Lines, Young served as
vice president of community affairs; vice president of the Delta
Foundation; and assistant treasurer of the Delta Foundation. In addition,
he was recognized as a superb manager and expert in community
and media relations.
Young has received numerous civic, community, and professional
honors, some of which include: the SCLC Ella Baker Award; the
Georgia Good Citizens Award; and the United Negro College
Fund Distinguished Service Award.
