1. Program Description: The Certified Customer
Service Specialist program is a sequence of courses that prepares students for careers in the service, hospitality, retail, and other service related industries. Learning opportunities develop academic, technical, and professional knowledge and skills required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement. The program emphasizes the core interpersonal and technical skills required to deliver exceptional customer service in a broad range of customer contact jobs. Program graduates will be certified as a Customer Service Specialist, a certification
recognized throughout the state of Georgia by the service industry.

2.Career Opportunities: Graduates may find employment in retail and service industries.

3. Financial Aid: THE PROGRAM IS FREE to those who qualify
The state of Georgia’s Post Secondary Option Program covers 100% of tuition and fees. The HOPE Vocational Grant program covers books.

4. Upon Successful Completion of Program: Participants
who successfully complete the program earn 15 technical credit hours and a Technical Certificate of Credit from Atlanta Technical College. Graduates are allowed to participate in the Atlanta Technical College graduation ceremony.

6. Application Procedures:

  1. Applicant must be 16 years of age by program
admission date and have earned a high school diploma or GED. An official high school transcript or GED scores are required. If still in high school, applicant must be at least a junior.
  2. Complete application for admission and HOPE
Alternative form. If still in high school, a Post Secondary Option form is required.
  3. If still in high school, students must have
at least a 2.5 GPA.
  4. Complete the ASSET placement test offered
by Atlanta Tech or submit official SAT score that reflects at least an 840 (420 in math and English) or ACT score of at least 17, or submit an official college transcript that reflects successful completion of English 101 and Math 101.
  5. Classes are scheduled quarterly and are held
based on demand. Classes are held at off-campus locations based on a minimum of 10 registered students.
